The Perfumer and his Inspiration

A Floral Fairytale by Rodrigo Flores-Roux and JAFRA

Our sense of smell is strongly intertwined with our memories. It has the power to impact our lives forever; just ask Rodrigo Flores-Roux, the master perfumer behind JAFRA's newest fragrance, Flores.

Rodrigo's earliest memory is tied to fragrance. He was only three years old when he was inspired by a beautiful tiny perfume bottle that belonged to his aunt. Ever since, his love of fragrances and passion for his home country of Mexico have continued to blossom. Rodrigo is more than a perfumer; he is an artist who illustrates his passion for flowers by taking his audience on a visual and olfactory journey with each new creation.

In partnership with JAFRA, Rodrigo has created a beautiful new fragrance that is close to his heart. While every fragrance that Rodrigo creates has a piece of Mexico, Flores is also inspired by the big, vibrant colors and aromas of flowers.

Rodrigo was intricately involved in every detail of developing Flores, from the fragrance notes to the design of the bottle. The bold five-petal pink flower cap is a nod to the time spent blending and mixing to achieve this vivacious floral fragrance with his fifth attempt, and pays homage to the vintage perfume bottle that started his love affair with fragrance.

The front of the bottle is graced with the signature of its creator; much like Rodrigo's handwriting, the fragrance inside is exuberant and joyful. Flores contains notes of blood orange, silky musks, and Brassavola Orchid - a Mexican orchid that grows in the wild, and blooms only at night. This unique and whimsical floral note is another nod to Rodrigo's culture.

Flores invites you to become part of the fairy tale.

"I want this fragrance to transmit joy; I want the woman who wears it to feel luminous, light-hearted, happy, and of course beautiful."
